The Divide in Denton County GOP: A Call to Action

The Denton County Republican Party is at a critical crossroads. Under the leadership of Chair Lacey Riley, who stepped into the role after the resignation of the former chair, Brent Hagenbuch, the party has faced unprecedented challenges. While Riley has worked tirelessly to uphold Republican values, a faction within the party—what some refer to as “RINOs” because they are Republican In Name Only—has undermined traditional fundraising efforts by redirecting key donors to a separate entity known as the Lincoln Cabinet.

Historically, the Lincoln Cabinet was used for event branding, but this faction leveraged it to divert significant financial support away from the party. Despite this, the Denton County GOP rallied, hosting a highly successful Lincoln-Reagan Dinner with Dinesh D’Souza as the keynote speaker in early 2024. However, the financial strain remains, leaving the party’s future hanging in the balance.

To sustain the Republican Party’s mission and its ongoing efforts, we urgently need committed Republicans to step up, get involved, and contribute. Together, we can ensure the party’s survival and success, preserving the values and progress we’ve worked so hard to achieve.
